Parking for residents and renters with stickers only. Anyone can walk in. Relatively few crowds. Small parking area. Attendants on duty. Disabled access limited. Long beach. Mid-size beach to water. Seal-spotting. Some bigger waves for body-surfing/boogie-boards. Bicycle rack.
Coast Guard Beach, a National Seashore beach in Eastham, sits just down the road from Highland Light. Parking is for residents and renters with stickers only, although anyone can walk or bicycle in to enjoy this pristine swath of golden sand that stretches for miles in either direction and sees relatively few crowds — even in the heart of summer. It is a large dune-backed beach with small waves that are great for boogie-boarders.
Tips:
If you watch closely you may spot a few seal heads popping out of the water. Parking is limited, so get there early or find alternate means of transportation. Also, a steep dune leads down to the beach and may be difficult to navigate for some beachgoers.
