| The water on the bay side of Cape Cod is warmer than the ocean side and has less surf, making it a favorite destination for the under-7 set. Paine’s Creek Beach in Brewster is one of those gems that seems to have been built for the pail-and-shovel crowd, who lounge in the tidal pools or scramble to find fiddler and horseshoe crabs. Plan to be there at high tide, or you may have to walk a mile out tosea from the parking lot to find any water. From the Boston Globe: Going from West to East, Paines Creek is the first bay beach you will find in historic Brewster. The beach is fed on the left by a creek and is perfect for children due to all of the sea creatures they can find. The water is warm and great to swim in at a comfortable 65-70 degrees in the summer. The beach itself is slightly rockier than other Brewster bay beaches such as Breakwater.Huge beach with tiny parking. Tidal pools very cool. Tons of room and various areas. Rock jetties. Grassy areas. Really gorgeous view. Right off parking. Families big. Popular but not crowded. Pretty potties. Little creek for kids. |

| Paines Creek is an extremely versatile beach with something to offer for everyone, especially the youngin's.With several different segments of land, including grassy, sandy and rocky areas, this beach is especially picturesque. It has several pools and creeks at low tide, but if you don't want to walk a marathon to get to the sea make sure to get there when the tide is in. |
