Free parking for a limited amount of cars on a first-come first-served basis. Family-oriented beach with calm warm waters for swimming and free entry. No lifeguards, bathrooms or snack bar, but the ice-cream truck does make frequent stops here. No attendant. Lots of shells. Some rock jetties. Seaweed. Boats. Windsurfing. Small waves. Not many people.
Forest Beach is another one of Chatham's string of beaches along its southern border. Forest is quite sunny and open, with soft sand to caress those overworked feet. This three-quarter-mile beach is a popular spot with windsurfers and moonlight strollers. Seashell lovers will bask in the glory of Forest's many shells. It's adjacent to Pleasant Street beach.
Tips:
This beach makes for a wonderful escape from the crowds and is also a convenient sunset or moonlight stroll for those living or renting nearby.
