Long boardwalk extends over salt marsh partway to beach. Excellent view of plant and marine life. Across the river is Dennis' Chapin Beach. Rather small. Picnic area. Not crowded. Large parking area. Some free parking. Lifeguards. Good for little kids. Bugs. Boardwalk only partway to beach.

The north side of Yarmouth on Cape Cod Bay is only about one and a half miles long and is largely marshland, save for a small beach at Bass Hole (also known as Grays Beach) on the east end. Bass Hole is at the mouth of Garden Creek, features lots of greenery and has a long boardwalk that extends over the salt marsh and offers an excellent view of coastal plant and marine life. Bass Hole Beach is rather small and, at low tide, has very little water. The beach has a large picnic area complete with a pavilion.

Tips:

The lack of water at low tide creates calm pools perfect for young children and lots of sand area great for adults wishing to take a break.
