Cape Cod National Seashore
The beach is part of the Cape Cod National Seashore. The Marconi Station has sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Cod Bay and the Outer Cape. The Marconi Area was named after the famous Italian wireless inventor, Guglielmo Marconi, who from here in January 1903 sent a message of greetings from Theodore Roosevelt, the President of the United States, to King Edward VII of the United Kingdom, marking the first transatlantic radio transmission originating in the United States.

Marconi Beach, a majestic piece of the National Seashore located in Wellfleet, is a huge beach with some major dunes. Large waves make it great for surfing outside of the guarded swimming beach area. Flat expanses of sand make it easy to find a comfortable spot, and even though it is popular, finding a good spot is never hard. Parking rarely fills during late June but it does fill in July and August, with moderate turnover in the afternoon. Huge beach. Must climb stairs to get to and from the beach down to beach. Attendent on duty.

Tips:

Stairs lead down to the beach. If you have trouble with stairs, this may not be the beach for you.
